President Hichilema Delivers 156 Police Cars Funded By CDF To Lusaka

On Friday, His Excellency, Mr. Hakainde Hichilema, the President of the Republic of Zambia, officiated at the handover ceremony of 156 Police Constituency Motor Vehicles at the Showgrounds in Lusaka.

The event symbolised, not only a commitment to national security, but also underscored the government's dedication to its manifesto priorities, particularly through the impactful use of the Constituency Development Fund (CDF).

In attendance were key figures from the government, including Cabinet Ministers, former Vice Presidents, Members of Parliament representing all 156 Constituencies, members of the House of Chiefs, and the Alliance Council of Presidents.

The procurement of the 156 Police Constituency Motor Vehicles using the CDF signified a strategic approach to address both security concerns and the broader development needs of communities. This initiative aligned with the government's commitment to transforming communities through improved service delivery and increased access to social services for every citizen through targeting CDF funding.

The utilisation of the CDF to fund the procurement of these vehicles highlighted the government's commitment to community empowerment. By investing in local infrastructure and resources, the CDF acts as a catalyst for positive change at the grassroots level. This not only improved the quality of life for citizens but also ensured that development is tailored to the unique needs of each constituency.

The handover of Police Constituency Motor Vehicles followed closely on the heels of the distribution of 156 CDF monitoring project vehicles a few months earlier. This dual approach demonstrated the government's dedication to monitoring and evaluating the impact of development projects, ensuring accountability, and maintaining transparency in the use of public funds.
